The Haunting

One fine day on Halloween Carla and Ashley (Olsen twins) wanted to go visited their grandma that had just past away without their parents knowing at a very young age of . No one really knew what happened to her.  They wanted to find a good time so it had had to be after school. 


As they made their way to the cemetery  they had to go through another  Haunted Cemetery that everyone had been talking about, because the gates that they always go through was locked. Scared and Terrified  they walked through the gates, but then suddenly.  Ashley Yells “CARLA LEAVE ME ALONE, STOP HITTING ME”. Carla Replied “ what are you talking about it wasn't me” Then Angrily Carla replied again don’t lie I saw a black shadow and you're the only person behind he”. Shocked by it, the girls ignored it and started to run for their life.

As fast as they could the girls ran, but as they were running  Ashley once more saw the black shadow. But this time it was running towards her, it was like it wanted to tell her something. Carla had no Idea on what to do so she went off to go find help. On the other Ashley was shocked, she had no idea on what was attacking her and didn't know what to do. Being brave Ashley stood up and spoke to the shadow and said” what are you and what do you want”. 

With shocked it replied “ I want to send you a message from your Nana”.
Having a short conversation about Carla’s grandmother’s death she understood on what the black shadow had told her.  It told her that her grandmother walked through thegraveyard the day she passed away. Carla replied in shock “ but how how did she die?” . “She was possessed by a very strong demon and her body was too weak so she died, that is the reason why she sent me to tell you and your sister to stay away from this very cemetery” said the black shadow.



From that day and forward Carla and her sister stayed away from the cemetery as much as they could.

Two Unexpected Shakes: More To Come???

As some of you may know on Sunday the 17th of march there was a earthquake or maybe 2 that hit Auckland. It was all over the internet. Luckily no one was injured or no buildings had serious damage. Now that my family knows that earthquakes can really happen were ready.

The Earthquake was caused by Rangitoto and Motutapu rubbing together.  The two quakes were measured at 3.1 and 3.9. I only felt the big one for some reason.

Tuakana/Teina

If you're wondering what the meaning of Tuakana/Teina is it means older or  younger brother/sister. The translation its in is Te Reo Maori what most New Zealanders like to speak in NZ. In our class we were given the opportunity to read to a younger boy/girl to teach them and help them understand on what they are  reading about.

Every Tuesday Room 19 and Room 9 do Tuakana/Teina in the library. The reason we do it is to  help the little kids get better at reading and make them understand on what their reading about.When we are reading we split up into partners, Lee - Son is my partner.

 One of the things I love to do in Tuakana/Teina with my partner is reading to each other. For example she'll read the first book with a little help from me then I'll read the next. Her favourite book is the WHEELS ON THE BUS, she likes singing it so much that she can read it heaps of times.

Sometimes reading with a little person  can get frustrating at times! Why? well they move around a lot or either get distracted by their friends. So whenever I read with Lee-Son I try to ask as many questions as I can, so that she stays focused.  


I feel amazed when I help them because when I know that I'm helping someone by just reading or saying words is AMAZING!! When you just see even smiles on their face is a privilege knowing that you helped them with reading. 

Frog Report

Do you know many things about frogs?

Well if you don’t then this is the report  for you.I am going to tell you what frogs are,eat,where they live,what they look like,their diet,their enemies, and   their life cycle . So be ready to read.

First of all frogs are amphibians. Amphibians are animals  that live in both water
and land. Frogs lay their eggs in water and are cold blooded like reptiles.





Frogs are  mostly found near swamps, ponds, slow moving water, under mossy rocks, and on wet forest floors . It is because if their skin dries out they will die.This is why frogs stay in damp areas or where   water is .


A frog has a short body , and   It has nice  smooth moist skin. It has big bulging eyes and  no neck. The colour of frogs skin can be green and brown .With their long hind legs they  can jump 20 times their size.

Frogs have a big mouth to swallow their food.Some frogs have teeth but toads don’t.In their mouth their tongue is not attached to the back it is attached to the front ,  so when it sees it food it snaps its tongue out and swallows it whole.It has long hind legs for jumping, and webbed feet for swimming. They can  also look upwards,sidewards,and downwards at the same time.

A frog's diet is beetles,snails, spiders, worms and even small fish.Tadpoles are herbivores , they eat weeds and algae.When they are  tadpoles they are herbivores, but when they grow up they become carnivores .

Have you ever wondered how a frog survives during winter ? Well ,  when it is winter frogs diet of insects disappear , so what they do to survive is they either burrow under wet rotting leaves , or hides deep in the mud on the bottom of the pond.If you wondering how  they breathe when they hibernate , they either breathe through their skin or lungs.

A frogs life cycle starts when it mother lays egg.Then the tadpole comes out of its egg , but sadly it has no eyes , arms and legs. But when its grows it develops legs, arms and eyes.After a few weeks it starts to look like a frog , and when it  ready it go  onto land.

During summer and spring frogs eggs and tadpoles are eaten by their prey such as snakes, lizards, birds, sharp toothed fish and hedgehogs .But with the amount of eggs that have been laid a huge number of frogs have been able to escape danger.
