The 5 Olympic interlocking rings are joined because the Olympics is when all athletes from every Nation meet.Baron Pierre de Coubertin was the one who designed the Olympic symbol.Colours Blue, Red, Black, Yellow, Green on the flag show the 5 continents which are Africa, Asia, Europe, Oceania, and America.
When the Olympic games begin, the Olympic flag is brought into the stadium.The rings on the flag appear on a white background.After the opening ceremony is finished the flag is hoisted up the flagpole, during the games the flag flys through the air until the closing ceremony.
