CAMP BENTZON

“YAY SANDSPIT HERE WE COME” I yelled as I hopped on the bus.  It was Tuesday the day camp had begun, excited that the day had finally arrived. Known as the BEST camp ever at Pt England I was overwhelmed, all I could do was just talk about  it all. Suddenly the bus stops, we load the ferry and were off.

FINALLY AFTER SO MANY HOURS we arrived at Kawau Island. Loading the bags on the deck as fast as possible, we then lined up in our teams. BENTZON was the best team ever with the three guardians MR and MRS Samuels and Mrs. McDonald. Emptying and preparing for the extremely tiring walk

SWEATING SO MUCH we had a break on the walk. I'm really sure that the walk was about 8 km  or something like that. Arriving at one part of the walk Isara said a wonderful speech  about camp and said how grateful he was.  We then headed back for camp and practised for our team item. So because I our was the best we came and in camp.

I enjoyed year 6 camp so much because we were all just like we'll FAMILY. So yeah when you go to year 6 camp you'll just have the time of your life.

Camp Bentzon

Tomorrow all year 6's will be travelling from school to Kawau Island.  Having to get up and be ready before 7:00 we'll be hoping on the bus for a 3 hour drive.

On the North Cove  of  Kawau Island, is exactly were Camp Bentzon will hopefully be. Going on the bus for a 3 hour drive then on the ferry to get to the island is how we will get there.

The cool thing I'm mostly looking forward to is raft making. Why? Because we work as a team and we'd also learn how to make one which will be awesomely fun.

I am looking forward to the fun that  I'll have with my friends and the fun that I will have with my team mates, guardians, and activities.

Abseiling will be a challenge for me because I'm normal up on high  things so I am going to challenge my self and face one of my tears.

Although I am not that great with heights I still think that I'll have the time of my life and it will be the best camp that I've ever experienced.

Couplet Poetry

Summer:

Summer is so hot
So hot I heat up like a pot
I’d  then get a  frown
But to turn it  upside down
A little play around
At the little playground

Year 6 Camp:

At year 6 camp
I want to do a tramp
But also go on sand
Just away from all the land
And see some great caves
Or swim in little waves

The Daily News

During the past few days my reading group the Wekas have been given a task to write their own News  Paper article about NZ Earthquakes, Scientific Modelling or Lake Vastok in the Arctic. I chose  NZ Earthquakes and here is what I've created.

Triathlon

Have you ever tried to do  a Triathlon? Well if you haven’t you've definitely got to try because I am telling it’s awesome. So guess what we got the chance to do a Triathlon and we did!!

So Any ways arriving  at the Tri Kids set up area  Mark introduced us  to Adrian and Brett. We then  learnt the rules and had a few practice rounds, so that when it came to the final we’d know exactly what to do.  Rule 1. was to not ride the bike in transition. Rule 2. was to put your helmet on first as you get into transition.

After learning the rules and that we had a run and ride to get the hang of it. Practising and trying my best I think I came 8th in the practice round. We then watched the boys as they ran their best and peddled, after that we all stretched and got ready for the finals.

Warming up for the finals the boys started. THEY WERE OFF, putting their helmet on and as fast as they could they peddled and did 2 laps around the field. Lining their bikes up they ran and ran. Crossing the finish line I think Jonathan might have came 1st.

It wasn't over yet, It was the girls turn now. We all lined up ready for the one simple word “GO” Mark yelled as I put my helmet on and quickly peddled. Finishing my bike race as fast as I could I  ran as hard as I could. Crossing the finish line with a tie I was glad.

Although it was tiring I like it so much. Riding on bikes and running is quite fun to do but unfortunately we didn't get to do swimming. It was such a great day for it all.

The Big Chill And The Big Drill

For the past few days the Wekas were given a task to research the climate change, Antarctic glaciers, drop stones, ANDRILL project. Then put our information together and put it in a presentation. Here is my ending product.
