The Earthquake was caused by Rangitoto and Motutapu rubbing together. The two quakes were measured at 3.1 and 3.9. I only felt the big one for some reason.

Two Unexpected Shakes: More To Come???
As some of you may know on Sunday the 17th of march there was a earthquake or maybe 2 that hit Auckland. It was all over the internet. Luckily no one was injured or no buildings had serious damage. Now that my family knows that earthquakes can really happen were ready.

My earthquake experience was very similar to Mrs Tele'a's. I was sitting at the table talking to Miss V when it hit. We looked at each other and said, "What the heck was that?"
Where did you find out that the quake was caused by Rangitoto and Motutapu rubbing together?
I hope there are not more quakes.
